(subaru.com/csr/community) Home Is Where the Heart Is 9/9/2016 Fall 2016 The Military Warriors Support Foundation (MWSF) and Subaru Help Veterans Army Combat Medic Charles Stewart served his country with distinction and brought honor to those he served alongside. Stewart was awarded an Army Commendation Medal with Valor for treating and evacuating nine wounded soldiers while under enemy fire and received a Purple Heart for the wounds he sustained. Upon returning home, he faced the difficult transition from the combat world to civilian life. Homes4WoundedHeroes Stewart eventually reached out to the Military Warriors Support Foundation, an organization founded by retired Lt. Gen. Leroy Sisco to help veterans transition to civilian life. Through the MWSF Homes4WoundedHeroes program, the Stewart family received the keys to a newly renovated, mortgage-free home. Transportation4Heroes uses Subaru vehicles for veterans MWSF additionally provides the Transportation4Heroes program for combat-wounded veterans who lack transportation to get crucial doctor appointments and even picks up veterans dropped off by other services.
