The Capital Velo Club (CVC) bicycle racing team and Subaru of New England extend their partnership arrangement forming CVC/Subaru of New England. "The team is very excited to once again have Subaru as its title sponsor, allowing us to bring our vast knowledge of bicycle racing and race promotion to both the Hartford, Connecticut, and New England community," said president and founder Mark "Henk" Paggioli.
Based in Hartford, the team has been racing since 1989 and has had many up-and-coming junior racers pass through. The team is active in the local community, supporting projects for safer roads, donating safety helmets and bicycles, and hosting rides such as the annual Keith Berger Memorial Criterium to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® and youth cycling.

Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) and its employees are deeply saddened by the devastating losses caused by the January 12 earthquake in Haiti. Subaru has responded to this tragedy with a $50,000 donation to the American Red Cross. In addition, employee contributions earmarked specifically for the Haiti disaster have been matched through the SOA Foundation on a two-to-one basis. Thank you to the many Subaru drivers who continue to care and contribute in their own ways.
The 2.5-liter turbocharged SUBARU BOXER engine in the Legacy 2.5GT was among this year's winners for Ward's 10 Best Engines. Engines were scored based on torque (258 lb-ft), horsepower (265), refinement, technical relevance, and comparative data.
"This year's list embodies how the industry is responding to demand for higher fuel economy and lower emissions without shortchanging performance," said Ward's AutoWorld Editor-in-Chief Drew Winter.
The award as one of Ward's 10 Best Engines was the second for Subaru, which won with the 2004 WRX STI.
