Subaru Awarded by ASPCA®

 

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA) recognized the devotion of Subaru and its dealers in the fight to eliminate homelessness for animals by presenting Subaru of America, Inc. with its Presidential Service Award. This is the first time that the award has been presented to a corporation.

 

During the past few years, Subaru has helped impact animal welfare through the facilitation of hundreds of adoptions. Subaru recognizes the integral role that pets play in the families of its customers and believes in supporting that passion.

 

 


 

PHS and the Philadelphia Flower Show

 

Subaru has been a partner with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) for 10-plus years, including sponsorship of the Philadelphia International Flower Show. The 2012 show, Hawaii: Islands of Aloha, is scheduled for March 4-11 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Find more information about the show at www.theflowershow.com.

 

PHS is a nonprofit organization founded in 1827. It offers workshops and publications for gardeners. PHS works with volunteers, agencies, and other organizations to plan, create, and maintain community green spaces. For more about PHS, go to http://www.pennsylvaniahorticulturalsociety.org/.

 

PHS launched a Green Machine project in spring 2011, which was aimed at assisting volunteers with gardening projects in 14 area parks. It offered mobile workshops, gardening education, materials, and planning assistance. In August, Subaru donated an Outback for the project.

 

As part of this year’s Philadelphia International Flower Show, Subaru of America will be honored with the President’s Award, which recognizes excellence in and commitment to environmental stewardship by Subaru.
