Make-A-Wish now has been part of the “Share the Love” event for two consecutive years. The $1,235,849 in donations to Make-A-Wish will help grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions, helping the organization get closer to reaching the goal of granting the wish of every eligible child.
Meals On Wheels Association of America has been a part of all five “Share the Love” events. This year, Meals On Wheels received $885,766 and has distributed $200,000 in “Share the Love” grants to 66 local programs across the country that involved Subaru employees in their efforts to serve seniors. Last year, Meals On Wheels was able to distribute $150,000 in “Share the Love” grants. In 2009, it created the Subaru Institute for Leadership Development to provide ongoing leadership and management training opportunities for local Meals On Wheels program staff.
The USO provides critical support and morale boosting programs and services to deployed troops; military families; wounded, ill, and injured troops and their caregivers; and families of the fallen. The $670,387 in funds from “Share the Love” will assist the USO in its mission of lifting the spirits of America’s troops and their families.
Over the last five years, Subaru has donated, on behalf of its owners, to the following organizations: the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Habitat for Humanity®, National Wildlife Federation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Ocean Conservancy®, American Forests, and Special Olympics.
