A feature article in Summer 2011 Drive highlighted a 1986 Subaru XT Coupe that was about to be restored. The car has been taken to Autobody Enterprises, Inc., in West Collingswood Heights, New Jersey, where work has begun.

Hank Reynolds at Autobody Enterprises reports that most of the bolts and fittings were removed without damage to the original parts. In general, the body and components have weathered well the 25 years since the car was built.

In early June 2011, Kiven Reynolds from Subaru of America, Inc. took charge of engine restoration, which was removed from the car and turned over to him.

The photo gallery shows the current state of the XT Coupe. We’ll follow up with more in a few weeks.
