For the second year in a row, Motor Trend magazine has chosen a Subaru to receive its Sport/Utility of the Year award. After evaluating the auto industry's all-new or significantly revised SUVs, the editors chose Subaru Outback for the 2010 award. In order to determine the award winner, Motor Trend editors considered specifications and other technical data, features, design, performance data, on- and off-road driving tests, and other elements pertinent to the vehicle and marketplace. The editors chose Outback after evaluating 11 qualifying new SUVs.

Three 2009 Subaru models -- Impreza, Impreza WRX, and Forester -- have been chosen as best bets by cars.com. The Impreza and WRX are each a "Best Bet for Sports Cars," and the Forester is a "Best Bet for SUVs and Crossovers."
Subaru is the only manufacturer to have all of its vehicles rated a 2010 "Top Safety Pick" by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Subaru vehicles earned the award based on their top rankings in frontal, side-impact, rear-impact, and rollover crash tests. Current IIHS crash tests require side head protection and electronic stability control.
1 Ratings based on Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's (IIHS's) 40-mile-per-hour frontal crash test, 31-mile-per-hour side-impact test, and 20-mile-per-hour rear-impact test. For more information, contact IIHS or visit their Web site at www.iihs.org.
