International Summer Camp
I participated in a number of group student exchange trips growing up, including to France, Portugal and (what was then) Czechoslovakia. It’s hard to choose a favorite, but the trip to Czechoslovakia was particularly memorable. “Delegations” of kids visited an elite amateur athletic training facility for a month for what amounted to a big, international summer camp. We spent the month playing sports, touring and getting to know each other. I made friends from Africa, Europe, Asia and our small delegation of Americans. The idea behind the founding of the organization was to show kids that, no matter where you go, the world is filled with wonderful people. Mission accomplished.
