By September of 2016, we had been thinking for a few months about getting a dog. We had been looking online, and had gone to a town shelter, but nothing was really happening. Then we heard that our older son Michael's Cub Scout Pack 438 was going to be selling popcorn at a Subaru/Bideawee adoption event at Donaldsons Subaru in Sayville, New York. We thought this was a sign, since my husband is on his fourth Subaru and I love mine, as well. On a Sunday morning, the boys and I headed to the event. The Bideawee van was in the parking lot when we arrived, and we went right inside. The minute we saw our soon-to-be pup’s little face, we knew we were not leaving without him. He was our Blazer, a 5-month-old Beagle mix with a Jack Russell Terrier beard. We hung out with him for about an hour while the Cub Scouts sold popcorn. Then my husband got off work and met up with us. Soon, the ball was rolling, we were filling out paperwork and the adoption was going forward. Subaru paid all adoption fees, and also to have Blazer chipped. We were even given a gift basket of treats and toys, and soon it was time to take him home in our Outback! Thank you so much, Subaru, for helping us find our beloved Blazer. He fits so perfectly into our family, and we are so lucky to have him!
